WELCOME TO THE FILLY
A lovingly restored, charming 16th century country inn set against the majestic backdrop of the New Forest, offering an idyllic hideaway for lovers of the outdoors.
Following an extensive renovation, The Filly features open fireplaces, cosy corners, polished dining areas, an impressive rear garden and seven brand new en-suite bedrooms.
Home-cooked food and locally sourced seafood specials are the order of the day, coupled with a well-stocked bar of real ales, liveners & pick me ups.
A RIGHTFULLY RESTORED NEW FOREST GEM
Located in an extremely picturesque hot-spot for day trippers and over-night stays alike, The Filly offers everything you could wish for in a traditional country inn.
New Forest walks and cycling tracks are right on the doorstep, with sailing, horse riding and wild camping close at hand.
Countless wild ponies and donkeys roam (and their foals too in the spring and summer months) along with regularly spotted wild deer and cattle.
DINING ROOM
Our large and airy dining room is decked out with walnut timber panelling, black and white tiling and a mixture of buttoned leather and upholstery seating. The eccentric finishing touches will not only turn heads but ensure you are most comfortable during your time with us.
BAR & SNUG
We wouldn’t dare not return this beautiful bar to its former glory, and the snug only helps retain the traditional feel with the antiquated mirror, low timber ceilings, flagstone flooring and mix of brass and wood table tops. Only the pops of colour in the scattered cushions will bring you back to present day.
LOUNGE
Immaculately decorated with deep seating in soft velvets and leathers, a wood burning fire and cosy armchairs… need we say more.
GARDEN HAVEN
After a long day exploring the ancient woodlands and open moors, our garden will feel like a clearing in the forest.
We have a plethora of tranquil spots, whether it be sitting around the olive tree al fresco, relaxing under the stretch tent, sipping a cool drink in the dappled shade of the pergoda or keeping warm late in to the evening gathering around the fire pit with friends.
